Nearly 150 guests attended the Spring Parents & Science Program—Science 101 for Parents: How Epigenetics is Revolutionizing the Understanding of Heredity—held at The Rockefeller University on April 28, 2011. The lecture featured David Allis, Ph.D., the University's Joy and Jack Fishman Professor and head of the Laboratory of Chromatin Biology and Epigenetics. Dr. Allis guided the audience through the rapidly advancing field of Epigenetics, touching on how this new science is revising our understanding of heredity and adding new dimensions to the study of evolution, with vital implications for medicine. A fascinating Q&A session with the audience followed.
