Over 200 guests attended the Fall Parents & Science Program—The Dynamic Childhood Brain: Preparing for a Lifetime—held at The Rockefeller University on November 15, 2011.  The lecture featured Mary E. Hatten, Ph.D., the University's Frederick P. Rose Professor and head of the Laboratory of Developmental Neurobiology.  After giving an overview of early brain development, Dr. Hatten described how her research into the genetics of neuron organization is shedding light on a range of conditions that arise in childhood, including autism and learning disabilities. A fascinating Q&A session with the audience followed.
