This year’s benefit will feature Rockefeller physician-scientist Jeffrey Friedman. A world-renowned scientist, Dr. Friedman received the Albert Lasker Award for Medical Research (known as the “American Nobel”) in 2010 for his pioneering work in genetics that led to the discovery of the hormone leptin. Dr. Friedman will address the extraordinary recent advances in genomics, how they are transforming biomedical research and healthcare, and the implications it will have for today’s younger generations. The evening will be hosted by Russell L. Carson, Chairman of Rockefeller's Board of Trustees.
