Nearly 400 guests attended the spring Parents & Science Program—A Parent’s Guide to Boys and Girls: How Hormones Shape the Brain and Influence Behavior—held at The Rockefeller University on April 27, 2010.  Influential speaker, school consultant, author and psychologist, Michael G. Thompson, Ph.D., was joined by Margaret McCarthy, Ph.D., a distinguished neuroscientist from the University of Maryland’s School of Medicine.  Dr. McCarthy opened the program by exploring the neuro-chemical science underpinning sex-related differences in behavior and Dr. Thompson followed, discussing the topic from his social-scientific prospective.   Many friends, new and old, were in attendance.
